Andrea Gremer, Treasurer, has been a member of the Board of Friends of San Francisco Animal Care & Control since 2015. A long-time dog lover, Andrea credits her first dog, Jake—a rescued lab mix—with bringing her out of her shell as an incredibly shy child. After Jake passed away in 2010, a coworker suggested San Francisco Animal Care & Control as a place she might be able to get her “dog fix.” After attending volunteer orientation, she was hooked and, eight years later, is never looking back.
Andrea holds a Masters of Accountancy from San Jose State University and is licensed as a CPA in the state of California. After spending almost six years in public accounting as an auditor at Big 4 firms, she now works for the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) team at the City & County of San Francisco. Andrea has held the Treasurer role on the Board since 2016 and is looking forward to raising awareness for the new city shelter.
