The first weekend in May we had three puppy adoptions: Bilby, Sasmoo, and Squishmallow, and kittens Zackary, Jordan, Elliot & Troy were all adopted too! The remaining two kittens were transferred to the SFSPCA.

Adoption update! Bubba went to a foster home with one of our rescue partners in January and it became a foster win: “Just wanted to send a Bubba update. We pulled him back in January with the intention of fostering him. Well…we decided to keep him! He’s a total goofball, loves the girls so much and we are so thankful to have him.”

Sweet Yeti has been adopted, by a lovely couple who’ve had multiple Tibetans before and were very taken with him!

Adoption update! “Fievel has made our lives so full. He made himself at home the day he arrived- climbing under the covers to sleep and giving endless kisses to everyone. He plays with his stuffed animals and chases his tail. The kids describe him as, “jumpy and kissy”. Thank you for this perfect addition to our family.”

Shy sweetie Uno has found his forever home, complete with a canine sister.

Adoption update! “Just wanted to update you all on Nayla, I adopted her almost 6 months ago from you guys and she’s doing great. Her name was Posey but it’s Nayla now.

Young Aussie cattle dog sweetie Howdy has gone home with experienced cattle dog lovers who’ll make sure she gets all the love and enrichment she needs.

Adoption update! “Hi! wanted to give an update on our adoption fur baby Chuy aka “ross.” He is doing amazing! His fun, loving personality makes our home feel cozy and welcoming. He enjoys pup cups, naps and throwing a smile at you when he’s excited. we got so lucky with all the love this boy has to offer.

Adoption update for Cosmo (fka Ernie adopted 12/25)! “Cosmo has just finished his middle school program at our k9 program up here! He is holding downs, doing wonderful on walks, and impressing everyone he meets. We are forever thankful to have found him.”

Fish adoption! A busy and social loach was abandoned in the Aquatic Pet Rescue Box in the Presidio, then brought to us. The fish has been adopted by one of our volunteers and is going home to a spacious and well appointed aquarium.

Fun super cutie Sancho has been adopted! And he has an adorable older sister named Bodhi to show him the ropes. Happy tails!

Wonderful update on our dear Linebacker! After spending eight weeks as part of a prison training program (where inmates leave the prison with a dog training certification!), Linebacker has been adopted into a wonderful family. He loves his kids and loves his dog sister, Plum.

From a stray dog at the local shelter, to a man on the inside, and now a beloved family member. What a journey! Thanks to everyone for helping him get there.

Sweet kitten boy Oscar has gone from badly injured in a trash can to his forever home! His adopters were so excited about meeting him that they arrived before we opened today.

Teeny scruffimuffin Betty has been adopted! She’s going to live with another small terrier mix sibling.

Saffron came to say hi! She’s doing well and gets to go to the beach twice a day. Her new name is Charlie!

Darling pup Chips Ahoy has been adopted! His new name is Lucky and he’s going to live with a big canine brother.

Adoption update! “We adopted Georgie (fka Chai) in October 2025. She’s doing great and we can’t imagine our lives without her. We have lots of adventures together, lots of love, and also training has been important! She’s a sweet, playful, funny, smart and gorgeous one (super mutt, chihuahua and pitbull). June 2025

Jarritos was recently adopted after waiting patiently for 5 months. His name is now Azukar (AKA Mr. Sugar Cube Toes) and he’s loving his new life: playing with his canine cousin on the beach, exploring a Sniff Spot, and cuddling with his loving adopter. Check out his sweet new ID tag!

Lovely Lily was brought in as a stray. When her hold period was up and no one claimed her, Lily’s finder came in to adopt her.

Reya the cuddle queen has been adopted!

We had a visit from an SFACC grad today: Atty came by to donate a bag of dog food. She was previously named Mikey, adopted from us in August of 2023.

Coco the bun has been adopted by these sisters. The older sister did research and presented her findings to her parents to convince them to get a bunny. Good job and happy tails!

Adoption update! Duke was adopted from us in 11/2010 and had the unique name Tai Chi Tuxedo. The name Duke is clearly more suited to his noble self. He just retired from 12+ years of service as an SFSPCA therapy cat. What a stellar gent! “Thank you for saving this smart boy. He brought many smiles to numerous people over the years.”

Cookie’s new name is Summer.

Adoption update: “Amos (previously Huey, adopted 12/24) is the bestest boy. The snuggle is real! Those ears. Wasn’t sure which way they’d go. Up, up is where they went!”

Falkor, our very own Magical Luck Dragon, has flown off to his Neverending Love Story.

Adoption update: “Snacks—now Hilda as in Hilda of Trolberg, HildaBeast, and HildaGirl—is a beloved member of our family! She loves playing with her lookalike sister and is obsessed with her cat siblings. She’s a great cuddler, always excited to chase a ball, and is learning how to whisper instead of barking authoritatively. She is an absolute love. We enjoy it when people ask what breed our girls are—our Bully Shepherds are the best!”

Adoption update: “Hello – I wanted to update you on Jasper (FKA Roland, adopted 7/24). He’s grown into an exuberantly orange guy with a ridiculously floofy fox tail & is quite the Velcro-cat who loves his tiny red ball & his roller ball track toy. His ‘mousing’ moves & crazy high vertical jumps are impressive. He could kick kitty litter for the Olympics!”

Adoption update: “I adopted Sugar and Smokey back in July 2024. Their new names are Fritto(orange) and Misto(gray). They have been the absolute best boys! They love their play time and napping together. They love bird watching and laying on the couch. Misto loves feather toys and Fritto loves a good kicker toy. They have brought nothing but joy and love to our household. We are so grateful to have them in our lives. I have attached some photos of them. A huge thank you for giving us our sons!”

“As we approach the 1 year adoption anniversary (April 29,2024) of Isabel formerly Taquito we thought you would like an update: Isabel has been a joy, she is extremely smart, funny and has the kindest heart. She loves both her human and dog brothers and enjoys playing with them nonstop. When we adopted Isabel she was 6lbs and 9 weeks old, now she is 55lbs and 14 months, we love her so much and could not be happier that she is part of our family. Thank you for all you do for these amazing animals.”

Adoption update! Handsome good boy Kermit was adopted in February and is doing great with his forever family! We’re happy to report that he kept his name and his stellar splooting skills.
