12 Days of Kittens & Puppies

Supervisor Katy Tang’s 12 Days of Kittens special Puppy Pop-Up day was a hit at City Hall! SFACC Director Virginia Donohoe presented S.F. Supervisor Katy Tang and her staff with honors at the last 12 Days of Kittens & Puppies Party on Dec. 14. Supervisor Tang and her team have advocated for animal adoption and SFACC services for years by welcoming adoptable kittens and the public into her office at “Kitty Hall” in Dec. This year, puppies and a service pig named Lilou (from SFO) joined the festivities. We’re so grateful for their advocacy and support of SFACC all these years! Supervisor Tang ends her third term in office in January 2019 and we wish her all the best!

December Visitors Bring Glad Tidings

First graders from Marshall Elementary School stopped by for a tour and to say hello to some friendly bunnies.

This gentleman’s elderly mom made blankets for our shelter cats and kittens to make sure they have a warm and snuggly holiday. She really knows our fashion style!

James Wilson from Rabbit Haven stopped by with fun holiday treat bags for ACC’s rabbits. Thank you James!

Thank you to Emily Voreas and the students from Adda Clevenger School. The students had to choose where to donate and they picked ACC!

Take a Virtual Tour of the New SFACC

Illustration of new facility

Breaking ground in May, 2019, the new SFACC shelter will be located at 1419 Bryant, on the northeast corner of Bryant and Alameda Streets. The SFMTA substation will be seismically retrofitted and renovated to create a modern, state-of-the-art animal care facility within the historic building shell. This move will provide a new important life for one of the oldest transit facilities in the city. The new San Francisco Animal Care and Control Project will address the multiple deficiencies of the current building and provide safe, sanitary and humane conditions that meet current animal health and welfare standards.
