Canine Collection Pop-up

One of our favorite pop-up showrooms, Batch is debuting its first-ever installation dedicated to dogs called The Canine Collection. Curated to feature stylish home furnishings alongside pet-friendly brands, including today’s top dog toys, food and accessories, the Collection includes novel brands, educational events and interactive experiences for Bay Area residents and their canine companions.

Among the brands featured in the Canine Collection, 10 percent of all rnsCeramics sales from this event will be donated to Friends of San Francisco Animal Care and Control to support the animals and services at the City’s only open-door shelter. Shop for your pup guilt free!

The Canine Collection starts on

University of the Pacific Giving Tree

In their third year of raising funds for Friends of SFACC, Kimmel Kington and her team (Group 2D at the Univ. of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry) decided to go for the glitter. The school holds a “Giving Tree Holiday Drive” in December for different nonprofit organizations to advocate and fundraise for their cause. “We had two days of paper ornament making for the staff, and as you can see in the photos, lots of people had lots of fun! It was so relaxing to go back to grade school days with glue and glitter!”
They advocated for adoption by printing full-size photos of adoptable animals from the SFACC website and hanging them around their table. Kimmel and her team raised $665.84 for SFACC this year. “We had some competition from several student fund raising drives but we also got some toys, treats, towels, and at least one person went to your online wish list.” Yay!

12 Days of Kittens & Puppies

Supervisor Katy Tang’s 12 Days of Kittens special Puppy Pop-Up day was a hit at City Hall! SFACC Director Virginia Donohoe presented S.F. Supervisor Katy Tang and her staff with honors at the last 12 Days of Kittens & Puppies Party on Dec. 14. Supervisor Tang and her team have advocated for animal adoption and SFACC services for years by welcoming adoptable kittens and the public into her office at “Kitty Hall” in Dec. This year, puppies and a service pig named Lilou (from SFO) joined the festivities. We’re so grateful for their advocacy and support of SFACC all these years! Supervisor Tang ends her third term in office in January 2019 and we wish her all the best!
