Ian started volunteering at San Francisco Animal Care and Control in 2011, where he specialized in small and exotic animals, and later trained and mentored new volunteers. Ian shares his home with Dasha, a “village dog” rescued from the streets of Bucaramanga, Colombia, and Daphne, a Great Dane Lab mix (aka “Labradane”) adopted from Copper’s Dream Rescue.
Ian is Managing Director of Mission Creek Capital Partners and a member of the firm’s investment committee. Before joining Mission Creek in 2014, Ian founded Financia Capital LLC, a boutique investment advisory firm dedicated to providing highly-personalized investment counsel and portfolio management. Ian spent twelve years at the helm of Financia Capital, while also running the Financia Global Focus Fund L.P., an equity-focused global-macro hedge fund. Prior to founding Financia Capital, Ian served as Chief Operating Officer of his family’s privately-held retail company, which recently celebrated 65 years under the leadership of three generations.
Ian received his BA, magna cum laude, in American History from Harvard University.
